May 3 ~ World Culture Day

We are excited to announce that we will be having a World Culture Day on Wednesday, May 3rd. The students will get to explore different cultures while teaching their fellow classmates about their chosen country/region.
Scholars will spend the several weeks in World Language preparing for this big event.  Each grade will become experts on a certain country/ region, mainly pertaining to the languages the students are learning.  They will create crafts, make decorations, enjoy food, and give a performance.   Additionally, each grade will be responsible to bring a dish, dessert or drink pertaining to their region. Remember, it should be finger foods; just to allow the kids to get a small taste from each region.

How Can Parents Help?

To make this successful, we will need your help donating supplies as well as volunteering for the event.
To volunteer for the day, please email your child’s teacher to let her know.
To sign up to provide a dish or donate supplies, please click here.  We are asking you to bring enough small food items for 20 kids. Students still need to bring a packed lunch.

These are the assigned regions for each grade:

Kindergarten: Mexico/ Central America
First Grade: Spain
Second Grade: Africa
Third Grade: Caribbean (Spanish speaking countries)/ South America
Fourth and Sixth Grade: Israel
Fifth Grade: China
We cannot wait to show you what the kids have learned. We hope you can make it!
Thank you!
