Dr. Steinbeck is a native Californian who was born in Los Angeles. She attended grades one through eight and grades nine through twelve in local Catholic schools and proceeded to UCLA for university studies. She says she was always destined to be a teacher because as a child, she played school with my neighborhood friends. She even remembers what she taught!
During high school she loved playing volleyball and becoming the student body secretary. After leaving Immaculate Heart High School, she entered UCLA as an English major. It was fun attending the UCLA football and basketball games and hoping that we would beat USC.
After receiving her teaching credential from UCLA, she began her teaching career as a 4th grade teacher. From there she went on to teach almost every grade level including high school. When she became a secondary assistant principal and an elementary principal for the Los Angeles Unified School District she loved helping teachers provide exciting and effective learning experiences for their students. She still loves doing that as a teacher at AD.
Her favorite hobby is reading. She plans to read at least 10 more books before the year’s end. She also enjoys being with her new granddaughter and grandson . She plans to visit every state in the United States and been to eleven, with 39 to go. Her last major goal is to travel to as many different countries as possible.
