Involvement Matters

A message from the Volunteer Coordinator

Hello Parents!

I wanted to formally introduce myself as the AEA EPO Volunteer Coordinator Chair and explain a little bit what that entails. My focus as a VC is to provide a channel of communication between school and parents, to coordinate volunteer activities within the school, oversee volunteer recruitment, training and assignments; and finally to promote the goals of the EPO.

A month into the new school year, and we are steadily picking up steam, however we cannot do it without YOU!  Hundreds of research studies show that when parents get involved, children excel better in school. Evidence indicates that having parents get involved in their children’s elementary school reaps positive effects that will last a child’s lifetime.

A volunteer can be many things: a role model for the student, an extra pair of hands to help the teacher or staff and a liaison between school and community. Which will YOU be today?  Look for the exciting opportunities to sign up at http://signup.com/go/t8gZNv .

If you have any questions throughout the year, or have any resources or suggestions to share, email me directly at tyanataylor@gmail.com

Thank you so much for your commitment of time and energy to this important task!
