Katie Cichowski, our P.E. teacher, first started working with young children when she began teaching gymnastics in high school. As a native to the northern suburbs of Chicago, she made the trek to Southern California to study Film and Electronic Arts, as well as Communications at California State University, Long Beach.
Not willing to retire from the sport, throughout college and her career in the film industry, she continued to coach gymnastics and acrobatics. With her knowledge she found stunt coordinators consulting with her for their films. Even with this success, she found herself gravitating towards a new profession, elementary education.
This past April, her hard work paid off and she received her preliminary teaching credential in multiple subjects. Currently, Ms. Cichowski has taken up dance and became certified in Yoga. In her free time she enjoys making films and websites, as well as taking part in Aerialist Silks and Trapeze. She canNOT wait to pass along her love of movement to her new students!

She has primarily taught 2nd and 4th grade at Carpenter Community Charter in Studio City. Mrs. Dror is especially excited to teach at AES Odyssey and bring her love of Project-based learning and STEAM education into the classroom. My name is Jenna Fortner and I will be teaching kindergarten for the 2015-2016 school year. I am thrilled to be apart of Albert Einstein Academy’s Beverly Hills opening! The guiding values of the school truly align with my own educational philosophy. I believe that the STEAM model of learning is an exciting and innovative way to get all students actively involved in their learning. I also share in the desire to create real world learning experiences, preparing students as global citizens. Kindergarten is a very critical year in getting students motivated about learning. I am eager to find ways to engage each child’s individual interests.

Olivia Lam earned a Master of Arts in Teaching/Education from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from 20 years ago. Since she was a child, she has always believed in the importance of nurturing, enlightening and motivating the others to shape a better future for our society. The path to become a professional teacher wasn’t very obvious but the experience and insights she gained along the journey made her a unique educator with invaluable skills and vision.
Olivia was a piano teacher at the age of 16, she has found that music is a vital art form that students can use not only for the music itself but it influences them in creativity and helps them understand mathematics. Having been a professional Graphic Designer for over 18 years, Olivia has learned how to communicate effectively using graphic and visual representations. Olivia has in-depth exposure in various cultures and backgrounds, where she has developed a keen ability to listen; problem-solve and stimulate strong positive emotions by understanding and appreciating the culture differences.
Albert Einstein once said: “It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.” This, coincidentally, perfectly suits Olivia as she applies her own unique and relevant career journey to her teachings at Albert Einstein Academy – Odyssey Beverly Hills. In addition to her solid experience and qualification, Olivia can speak and read fluently in Mandarin and Cantonese.
Ms. Philina Lin is a Cupertino, Bay Area native where she graduated with her Bachelor
of Arts in Liberal Studies Preparation for Teaching and focused in Creative Writing and
Mathematics from San Jose State University. During her time as an undergrad, she taught
multiple subject areas for kindergarten through eighth grade including science, engineering,
math, and swimming. Her biggest accomplishment before beginning her credential program was
developing a fourth and fifth grade science curriculum for a non-profit program; serving at-risk
youth living in low-income San Jose communities, where she also taught fifth through eighth
grade science and managed a science team.
After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree, Ms. Lin continued her love for teaching at
the University of California, Irvine by attaining her Multiple Subject Teacher’s Credential and
Masters of Arts in Teaching Elementary and Secondary Education. Through her student teaching
experience, she learned how to effectively teach reading, writing, and comprehension along with
a project based learning method. With these experiences, she has learned that a project based
learning with STEAM approach is the most effective and engaging method of teaching that also
imperatively prepares students for real life scenarios.
